If it was about keeping out immigrants, they'd be treating the people who hire immigrants like they treat poor drug addicts; throw them in jail. It's obviously easier and much cheaper to shut down the slaughterhouses and farms that employ the migrants until they start paying wages that will attract native born Americans.
