Hey, I'm all for sticking to your values and doing what you think is right. But I don't care who's charge, I wouldn't turn down an opportunity at NASA.
NASA is supposed to be non-political. I know it doesn't always end up that way, but she's gonna regret this when she gets a little older.
It seems like you're not aware of what the federal landscape looks like right now.
There are good odds that internship might not be around a couple of weeks from now. If it is, there may not be the staff to support interns. If there is the staff, they might not have the funding for the work she wanted to pursue.
I'm seeing this across federally funded research centers across domains.
Its sad to say, but if she can get an offer at NASA then she probably can certainly get offers from places with greater stability.
I'm aware that there's no way I would turn down a NASA position, just to "protest" because I don't like a president. LMAO
