I expect ducks would consider it lucky to be out in the rain.

False. Though ducks are water birds, they are intimidated by rain. It is common for ducks to take shelter from the rain by going to the pub, bowling, or indoor mini golf.

I've seen old ducks at bingo sheltering from the rain.
