The cast album for the 2023 revival of Sweeney Todd starring Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford will be released for digital download on September 8.

The pre-release tracks for this album have been dripping out for months, so it's good to finally have an official release date.

Wow, hard for me to envision Josh Groban as Sweeny, but I'd love to give him a chance!

He sings very well, but he lacks the required intensity to play a man who's obsessed with vengeance.

Yeah, I could see that... Too clean and controlled and not gritty and dark.
