I mean, to be fair there IS a lot of fraud in science - corporations hiring people to write research which has a bias; but because of the scientific method, we find them and remove them constantly. That's not an excuse to distrust the scientific method entirely, but they regularly throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Conservatives think that Science is a competing religion, and not simply a method of learning about the world around you. They're just short of flat-earthers, who've gone COMPLETELY bonkers and don't trust any authority whatsoever.
