... that aren't filled with ads and/or have a large price tag. Especially compared to the huge FOSS App collection Android has. And it's not like I could just be like "oh damnit then I'm just gonna use the terminal for doing task XY" - unless I jailbreak. Which Apple doesn't want, of course.

I will jailbreak because FUCK APPLE AND THEIR NORTH-KOREA-LEVEL LOCKED DEVICES. It is not secure just because you say it, you have to prove it independently via, say, opensourcing it.

I have zero apps on my phone with ads and i haven’t paid for apps in years. Seems like youre commenting based on vibes and apple hate

Same,

Most of my apps are for open source stuff.

Voyager for lemmy, jellyfin, nextcloud, home assistent, Wireguard.. even lichess.

Many of the official apps like my bank don’t have ads or price either.

I don’t know how there paying to get their app on the store but there there and there free.
