As art, the Kebab is not world shaking. But it is more than art, it's a piece of Perth. Ideally I'd like to see it restored. But if it has to be replaced, then it should be replaced by something that is/will be another part of Perth.
The 'I've got these statues in 12 countries on 5 continents' guy gets bragging rights, Perth gets to be a statistic in his story. I don't think this is a fair deal. The astronaut would be a part of that guy's story. Not Perth's.

I guess this is what i meant last night, when i's banging on about Public this and that, etc.
