I'm sure we all feel great seeing photos and videos of huge protests. This isn't accomplishing much. We need more. I don't know what that is. I just know that we need it.

I am so very sorry to hear this. I cannot imagine what it has been like for you two. Do you mind me asking when this happened? Has she been released now?

She was imprisoned in her home country for criticizing the royal family in her home country. That was six years ago. She escaped and came here as a refugee. We're not making waves to protect her. How fucked up is that.

That's good to hear. I'm sure that trauma lingers however :/
