There has been studies on this. Turns out trans individuals experience less regret than those that receive other elective and life savings surgeries. Yes there are some who regret their decision to transition but so does my dad after getting bypass surgery because he's in constant pain now. Doesn't mean bypass surgery should be outlawed. Hell, look at the percentage of people that regret breast enhancement surgery and you don't see conservatives fighting to outlaw those.
