After 9/11, Country turned from "we are working people" to "My Dad's an oil tycoon and I love the US".

This is where a lot of Americana music comes in ... the online station Americana Boogie Radio has lots of defiant working class songs on it's playlist :-)

Yeah, that’s a good one.

Boot Liquor on SomaFM is full of working people music, with an emphasis on the drinkin and dyin side of the genre.

that was around the same time local radio collapsed and I heart radio and other conglomerates took over. not long after media ownership rules changed. I don't think it was the artists who changed.
