Move domain name? (lemmy.world)
submitted 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) by CAVOK@lemmy.world to c/buyeuropean@feddit.uk

I have a domain (.org) that's currently with a US registrar (web.com) that I'm looking to move. Is it possible to move a .org domain to an EU registrar, and do you know of any good ones?

Edit. Thanks guys, the domain expires in a few months so no more money from me to the US. My money for eu jobs.

Its a very simple standardised process.

  1. Go to your current registrar and initiate domain transfer / unlock domain.
  2. You can now initiate transfer with the new registrar.
  3. The old registrar will give you an auth code in some way.
  4. Enter the code in your new registrar.
  5. Update name servers
