I never heard it called clingfilm when I was growing up, always just plastic wrap - until one time I was watching TechTV, around the era of The Screen Savers, and one of the late-night shows had some guy on that had written a bunch of fanfic about Roy Orbison being wrapped in clingfilm. Can't see or hear the word now without thinking about that.

I'm gonna see if I can find a clip of it.
