The long term gain is reserved for the oligarchs that paid the lobbing bills, and Russia. The rest of the stupid fucks get to become serfs.

This was the line after the Brexit vote (not before of course). Nine years later and I haven't been able to put my finger on a single benefit or gain. Not one.
