I have a small freezer that needs to be defrosted every 6 months so what I do is live off that until it's empty and then restock it. I know that nothing has been in there longer than 6 months.

With the fridge - freezer however I label stuff with a date on them if I've repacked meat into freezer bags.

I think this is where it's gone a bit wrong heh. 6 months seems like a good thing to aim for. Hrmm.

You don't need an inventory. You just need to make sure to label stuff with a texta and include the year.

I don't label tho, I put food in containers and then when I run out of containers I have to use what's in there ...lol

I don't repackage anything
