We've got a big lot of stuff we want done by end of this year (brewery refit, garage/ workshop sorting and repointing, garden stuff, jobs ranging from full bore rebuilds to swapping out a tap or clearing a junk pile) and set ourselves a system where you have to do at least an hour a week on any one of them - doesn't matter what, could be planning, purchasing, clearing, mounting, etc - or chuck money into the reno budget. Penalty for failure to act that week: $50.
So far his lordship owes $150 loool
at $10 a beer that would last me 1 week
considering I rarely drink, nope, that goes into the reno budget (one of those super savers that gives you bazonga extra interest if you drop in a minimum and don't make any withdrawals for the month)
