I find it equally concerning when the slightly less hard-right instead of scapegoating those women, minorities, LGBTQIA+ and most vulnerable, hire them to pander on the campaign trail and then serve those same elites when they get elected. Then, when they are in office, they can turn any criticism of the austerity pushed by those token candidates against the critics, calling them sexist, racist, ableist or what have you.
The only real difference between the two parties is basically branding at this point. They both have identical goals when you peel away the layers of identity politics and casting decisions.
