I'd guess many people probably can't upgrade due to the Windows 11 hardware requirements, and the rest probably don't want to because Windows 10 is fine and Windows 11 has a reputation for a lot of bullshit. Personally I'll upgrade when I'm forced to due to lack of security updates.

Is this really the best strategy? There will be a moment where there is a critical Win10 security issue discovered and that will be abused by bad actors in record time as there still will be millions of Win10 devices around there. So maybe try to upgrade before you're forced to upgrade?

I said I was going to upgrade when Microsoft stops security updates for Win 10, so I'm not sure what you mean.

Sorry - i read it as "I'm staying on Win10 until there is an unfixed security vulnerability"

Oh, right. I figure I'll upgrade at the beginning of October. I just built a new system capable of running Win11 last fall.

Upgrade in time before the official EOL, so they dont end up not fixing a new vulnerabilty because by the time they have the fix, the EOL might already be there.

In other words, dont trust the EOL date and be prepared before you are forced to upgrade.
