I have a vague memory of that Flash TV series way back in 1990 or so, where Barry Allen has to eat like a dozen pizzas after using his super speed. It was a funny nod to the implausibility of superhero powers. How many burgers would Superman need to eat to maintain his metabolism?
He was famously solar powered, so, zero?

Nah it's still a good question, does he actually need food or does the sun only power his powers.
Depends on the era and whose writing him that day.
He still would have to expand to a large enough surface to make the whole solar thing viable (and to blend in better in the US).
now that's a mental image.
