Donald Trump has said that Palestinians have “no alternative” but to leave Gaza due to the devastation left by Israel’s war on Hamas, in effect endorsing ethnic cleansing of the territory over the opposition of Palestinians and the neighbouring countries.

Speaking as he prepared to host Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, on Tuesday, Trump repeated the suggestion that Gaza’s population should be relocated to Jordan and Egypt – something both countries have firmly rejected.

Trump claimed Palestinians would “love to leave Gaza”, telling reporters: “I would think that they would be thrilled.”

So absolutely nothing that will stop the genocide in Palestine.

What I have done is spend hours of my time making calls, writing emails and going directly to the offices of politicians to demand they do something.

But sure, I haven't trained anyone not in Palestine how to use firearms or do first-aid training because those are 100% irrelevant.

[–] ubergeek@lemmy.today 1 points 7 months ago (30 children)

Oh, mitigate things in Palestine?

I send regular donations to groups there for aid.

What beyond that, do you suggest? Voting for a dem wouldn't have changed things for them. Neither do phone calls.

Intried the phone call route, letters, etc. I was told by my dem reps, that it's important for the US to maintain a strong security presence there, to protect Israelis.

"They told me something discouraging, so I gave up" is not the excuse you think it is.

But congratulations on deciding the solution is capitalism. Both very American of you.

You clearly don't. You think money will fix genocide.

I asked them what they are doing to help stop genocide, they said giving groups money. So yeah, it is.

I may be stupid, but I'm not illiterate.

[–] nsrxn@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

you are engaging in bad faith re-fucking-ported

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

That's literally what they said, but okay. Go ahead and report me for it.

[–] nsrxn@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

it's not what they said. it's a bad faith interpretation

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I'm pretty sure only I get to decide whether or not my interpretation is "bad faith," and since they are now telling as many lies as possible about me in this post (claiming I call people, including them, idiots, claiming I think voting is the only thing to do, claiming I think people should "vote blue no matter who," all easily disproven), maybe I'm not the one acting in bad faith her.

[–] nsrxn@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I'm pretty sure only I get to decide whether or not my interpretation is “bad faith,”

the mods and admins also get to decide. your tu quoque isn't a defense, either.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

It's sure a defense of why you've decided to focus on me and not the person who is clearly trolling. But sure, I'm the real problem here.

And you seriously reported me to the admins too? You think I'm violating Lemmy's ToS somehow? Please quote the part of the ToS I'm violating.

[–] nsrxn@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I'm talking to you because you responded to me. anyone can read the thread. you claim they're trolling but I woke up to a message from you demanding to know what I'm doing to help with harm reduction. and when I clicked into the threead you were shitting on someone who is actually helping with harm reduction.

I know who the troll is.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (2 children)

Accusing people of bad faith seems to be something you greatly enjoy doing:

https://lemmy.world/search?q=bad+faith&type=All&listingType=All&creatorId=12111005&page=1&sort=TopAll

Also, don't you think maybe you should consider what I'm actually helping with? Or does it not count when I do it? Because that would seem like "bad faith" to me.

Now- what part of the ToS did I volate?

[–] nsrxn@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I'm absolutely right about each of the times I've pointed out bad faith engagement.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

You still haven't told me what part of the ToS I have violated despite implying you have contacted the admins.

That seems like "bad faith engagement" to me.

[–] nsrxn@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

You still haven't told me what part of the ToS I have violated

I don't get to determine that. it's up to mods and admins.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

So you report people for violating rules even if you don't actually know what those rules are?

That definitely sounds like bad faith. And trolling. And a headache for the admin.

[–] nsrxn@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

this definitely sounds like trolling.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago

Then you are definitely violating the rules of this community right now:

But I won't report you for it, I just think the irony is very amusing.

[–] nsrxn@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 7 months ago

don't you think maybe you should consider what I'm actually helping with

no. it's irrelevant to whether you're participating in this conversation productively. you're not. you're derailing.

[–] ubergeek@lemmy.today 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

What do you suggest I do, other than that?

No matter how I voted, they'd be getting genocided... so, I sent money for relief aid. That's apparently wrong, that I put my money where my mouth is, and vote with my dollars like ya'll liberals say to do..

So what else should I do?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world -1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I suggest you stop lying about me, first of all. Then maybe we can go on to suggesting what you can do about Palestinian genocide. But I'm guessing the former is not going to stop.

[–] ubergeek@lemmy.today 1 points 7 months ago (2 children)

I get it. Your only solution to everything is just vote. And then it ends there.

[–] nsrxn@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

no, they also beg politicians to do something , and run away, and shit on solidarity efforts
