Ugh. They make this same mistake in Battlefield, where after a respawn your gun’s firing mode has persisted from before your last death.

I keep mine on full auto by default, then occasionally switch to single fire. Then I die and respawn, unaware my gun is still on single fire, and I die again because I try to open up on an enemy and it just goes “pop” and one round goes off and then I’m dead.
