It never ceases to amaze me that we hung Brown and didn’t hang Lee or any of his traitorous friends.
Brown is probably the greatest white American man to ever live. A man who lived and died for the stated ideals of this nation.
Lee is a despicable failson who killed thousands of his countrymen so that he and his class could continue to literally rape and abuse other people. He got to be a university president after that. Wtf. The USA is evil and always has been.
In the defense of the US at the time, Brown was hanged on state (Virginia) charges, and after the Civil War, calls to hang Lee (or, failing that, at least Jeff Davis et co) were very loud during the administration of Andrew Johnson. Unfortunately, it was during the administration of Andrew Johnson, who wasn't much more than a fucking traitor himself, and escaped removal by impeachment by a single vote.
