This webpage lists ableist words and phrases that marginalize and oppress disabled people. Some words are outright slurs while others are ableist in origin or use. The author notes that not all disabled people find all the listed terms offensive. The list is meant as a learning tool, not a censorship guide. Using person-first language and describing specific needs or characteristics is preferable to ableist terms
