I'm excited to see a new power unit debut. GM has a long racing pedigree but F1 chases perfection to a degree that is arguably unmatched. Will they hit the ground running or stumble? Time will tell.

I can't imagine the engine being amazing when they start, but I hope they have the flexibility to improve the performance and reliability.

They're going to struggle through their first set of regulations. This isn't a knock on GM, just no one joins F1 and is competitive out of the gates - a climb made tougher bringing their own engine and designs.

The real question will be how quickly can they iterate, and how committed are they to improving in the sport. If they stick around for the long haul, I think they'll have much potential.
