I can read a recipe in 30 seconds, why would I want to waste 8 minutes of my life watching a YouTube video?

Many people were never taught to cook, a video is great for them as they can see how to make the recipe

Put another way it carries more "how to" information than a written recipe

Aye, a badly written recipe maybe. There are millions of them!

Here's a good example of a well written recipe -
