A standard is great and all, and USB-C has the functionality needed. It also has the capability to be used as an invisible spy tool. Both as storage, and as a direct hardware wire tap.

Only when tunneling Thunderbolt 3, not all USB-C ports are created equal, some can only carry USB 2.
