Emoji inspiration: I call this part of the year (the time between Boxing Day and New Year's Day) the "never-never times" because some things are open, others are closed, some people are working, a lot not, so fuck all gets done, and if you need anything besides food or groceries, you're basically SOL

Happy International Day of Epidemic Preparedness!

Elder got a NERF gun and Miniest got a shark plushy from Kmart with their vouchers. Then from the supermarket they selected some choc coated nuts (the ones that come in jars, the kids love them). And from the gifty/clearance type section they found a totem tennis set for $11 that they wanted and Miniest wanted a fan (folding, rechargeable and whisper quiet, exactly like the one I got from my secret Santa) for $26. They also grabbed a milk drink and a box of tea each. Basically they've still got heaps left over lol. I was impressed with their frugality. They were tempted to get some chips but thought the 2 for $10 was laughable for their favourite ones (kettle I think), as they were 2 for $9 a few days ago.

Edit: did not purchase a treat (๐Ÿฅƒ) for myself as I've been a bit too keen to treat myself lately; had me a few cups of genmai cha when I got home.
