That's Ciri, right? Forgive me, but who's the other person?

I don't follow the gamergate crowd (or Twitter, at all), but isn't it established that female protags in games are awesome? FemV and FemShep VAs freaking killed their roles. Kassandra was so much better than... whoever her brother was. And don't even get my started with squadmates, like Gamora in GOTG or literally anyone female in BG3.

Like, even if I was a raging sexist, the argument that a female protag is unimmersive is beyond stupid.

The character in Naughty Dog's new game, Intergalactic. Naturally there's been uproar over a FEMALE with a SHAVED HEAD.

Ladies with shaved heads is like the most chrome, retrofuturism shit besides having partially shaved heads. I'm just so glad I can fucken enjoy things god damn.

Women have no obligation to please me, but the rise of popularity of ladies with shaved heads and undercuts in the late '10s and early-mid '20s now is immensely satisfying to my aesthetic tastes.

But ultimately, anyone throwing a shitfit over a protagonist's hairstyle because it's 'too/not enough' 'masculine/feminine' is major cringe.

Was there ever an uproar over Geralt having long hair?

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 8 points 7 months ago

Yes, but it was mostly slashfic writers who kept to themselves.
