Men's Liberation
This community is first and foremost a feminist community for men and masc people, but it is also a place to talk about men’s issues with a particular focus on intersectionality.
Rules
Everybody is welcome, but this is primarily a space for men and masc people
Non-masculine perspectives are incredibly important in making sure that the lived experiences of others are present in discussions on masculinity, but please remember that this is a space to discuss issues pertaining to men and masc individuals. Be kind, open-minded, and take care that you aren't talking over men expressing their own lived experiences.
Be productive
Be proactive in forming a productive discussion. Constructive criticism of our community is fine, but if you mainly criticize feminism or other people's efforts to solve gender issues, your post/comment will be removed.
Keep the following guidelines in mind when posting:
- Build upon the OP
- Discuss concepts rather than semantics
- No low effort comments
- No personal attacks
Assume good faith
Do not call other submitters' personal experiences into question.
No bigotry
Slurs, hate speech, and negative stereotyping towards marginalized groups will not be tolerated.
No brigading
Do not participate if you have been linked to this discussion from elsewhere. Similarly, links to elsewhere on the threadiverse must promote constructive discussion of men’s issues.

It's pretty easy for the alt-right if men are constantly attacked and branded as "the problem". How are you going to persuade somebody by starting with "you're the problem", "check your privilege", "#AllYourGroup", and so on? It's like walking up to a Christian and shouting "God doesn't exist!", "Your belief is killing us all!", "Religion is cancer, how can you believe in it?", etc.
Don't call people out, call them in
Counterpoint: people don't know how to sit with being uncomfortable anymore. The patriarchy still exists, and the only people that can dismantle it are men because they hold the institutional power to do so. These alt-right "influencers" have learned how to take advantage of the fact that these young men don't want to put the work in to make the women around them feel safe.
Counter counterpoint: patriarchy never existed, the rich always controled the poor. The alt-right "influencers" are a bunch of rich brat, thats' it. Poor men are despised by rich men since they are considered "weak" and by most women since most women bundle all the male species together. These douchebag rethoric aren't new, they just found a new megaphone (tiktok, ytshort, ...)
most rape are done by someone known to the victim, yet you don't fear your friend/family. But the nobody male behind you should know you are terrified by him being around.
I've been sexually assaulted multiple times in my life by people I knew, so no, you'd be wrong, I do fear those I know. I'm a woman with disabilities, and I refuse to work with cis male support workers for this very reason. But go ahead and assume you know more than a woman, that will sure prove your point that patriarchy never existed.
