It's so very true, constantly creating boogeymen to whip up their base into a froth. In my area for months parents repeating things they hear about kids who identify as cats being provided litter boxes to pee in at school. Never once happened, it isn't a thing.

This approach has been followed over and over again, and it works so well to motivate those voters.
