It was always Ralph Nader's fault.
(To the down voter: Ralph Nader fought to bring regulations for mandatory seat belts, among other life saving consumer safety issues he had a hand in. Man's a hero. Also, this is a joke. Ffs)
The joke worked for me.
He might have blown the 2000 election for Gore and doomed the planet to runaway global heating.
That was Chad's fault.
(And roger stone, and john Bolton, and the supreme court. And Pat Buchannon who was another 3rd party spoiler whom many ballots were accidentally cast. 20% of his votes came from that single county. Nothing strange at all.)
