Edit: it's a Mazda 6, I got it confused with another car I was looking at.
smart choice! Everyone loves to bag them, but never heard a complaint from someone who actually owns one. only know people who regret selling them.
I reckon it should last a while. Work had the novated lease thing, but fuck that.
Yeaaaaah nah, not worth it unless you’re making serious coin. And sadly I don’t think a Corolla will last just a while…I think your stuck with it till the heat death of the universe. They don’t die.

You're right, you need to be near the ceiling of your possible salary before doing novation.
Or you drive serious km. It's designed for people who need a car for their job.
