How did Salt Lake City land two UFC pay-per-views within a year? After two previous attempts at hosting an MMA event in Utah fell short of expectations, a half-decade wait, shifting demographics and economics, plus a pinch hit from a new face with some juice wound up creating the perfect storm.

I’ve got to imagine there’s more to this story. I wish Walden went deeper on Smith and cosy relationship Dana enjoys. Why else are the UFC returning to Utah given fighters’ tendency to gas there, which is bad for the product?
