BOSTON (AP) — Opening a new front in legal battles over college admissions, the U.S. Department of Education has launched a civil rights investigation into Harvard University’s policies on legacy admissions.

No Harvard is private, though as the other commenter noted, they may be getting federal dollars. What this really sounds like is the natural conclusion to the SCOTUS ruling against Affirmative Action. If we cannot have one, why should we allow the other?
