I just thought, no he doesn't, and then I realized that I must be old compared to this other person because I'm thinking of NES Mario.

There was a jump noise. He was huffing and puffing then too.

Been awhile since I played a nes version, but I feel like in 2 they all made noises. Almost positive 1 did, 3 def did. And by def I mean I'm 85 percent sure. My Gameboy was almost always muted, so I can't really comment on that
