This is also true. But then again, I was raised Mormon. There are things that make the founding Mormons sound like real badasses. Eventually I got out of the church, and learned that somehow some of the craziest shit the church says about church history is usually partially true. The thing they always leave out is that Joseph Smith and Brigham Young heavily abused the Ephedra (contains ephedrine) plant, meaning they're pretty much the OG tweaker sex cult.
So you hear crazy shit about them and you think it's all bullshit until you just find out that they were pretty much methed out for it.
Huh, I hadn’t considered that some of the stories would have pharmacological explanations like that. Some of the stories would make more sense if the person were blasted on opium or something like that.
Congrats on getting out, I hope it wasn’t too awful to extract yourself. Also, lol @ the ephedra thing, I haven’t heard that before so it made me chuckle and gave me a new perspective on how some of those unbelievable stories can be explained.
