On N4G (a notorious website full of Sony fanboys and actual real life chuds) they are mask-off vocal about not wanting to play the game because you play as a woman and that Jin's story is being forgotten.

It's like, hey idiot, do you maybe think that this 2nd game might have plot relevant to Jin despite the fact you don't play as Jin? Just let your blatant misogyny prevent you from ever finding out.

That doesnt mean "of course jins story is forgotten" it just means it isnt the primary focus of this game's narrative. Flashbacks, written text & stories that survive to the current game are just two ways they could easily tie the two stories together.

I'm sure his impact will be felt in the setting probably as you describe, but people getting bent out of shape because its a woman are chuds and losers; it was never his story to begin with.
