I’m a bit upset he didn’t make an impact here. But he did help push Shaw to his current form, so that is a pretty big impact.

Yes he had a really big part in pushing Shaw into what he currently is. At least looking in from the outside. So I guess he was worth it at the end. Forming a beast is no small feat!
