It's nice on Lemmy because you can see how many votes up and down, along with the total. Reddit was the same a long time ago, but they removed vote counts. A post with a score of 0 could have thousands of downvotes, and your one upvote doesn't change anything. It's still a nice sentiment, and would only really help the people who have just one downvote.
