I feel like this is spoiling somebody’s OPSEC
Or.. now we know, that they know.... Ad infinitum.
So now they have to wonder each time .. dis real or blow up..
It's already an issue. People have to guess based on the color of smoke after the boom to guess if it was real or not. White smoke only was probably a decoy. Black smoke was probably real. Both sides have been using these for at least months now.
I'd probably send a team around to places to setup decoys for a picture and then remove it. So if you later use the spot and get hit you maybe have some mind games to play.
I mean its nothing new. You could make the case of Russia passing up real f16 they think could be decoys.
