It's a sliding door, just do it slowly and carefully and you'd be fine.
Or better yet, open the other sliding door and fish the dishes out. No risk.

How would you know it's sliding door? Is it the lock?
Yep. That recessed finger hold is common on pocket doors and sliding cabinets.
Hard ceramic on hard glass like that is really unlikely to make a seal of any meaningful force. Those dishes are not perfectly flat on the edges.
Yeah, that sucks.
