Just because your human brain can’t understand how he’s using it, doesn’t mean he’s not using it.
I can't tell if this is meaningless silliness or if it's profound wisdom. All I really know is that just because my human brain can't know which it is doesn't mean it isn't one or the other.
Cats like boxes and whatnot, because they provide protective cover. Obviously, laying into the bed would provide more cover, but laying next to the bed still provides one wall of cover. He is using the bed as cover.
Also putting the bed a few feet off the ground will make it more likely to be used.
its the superposition of silliness/wisdom
