You know, I don't know anything else about the guy, but I respect his response to the whole situation.

He accepted the woman who threw the dildo at him was trying to make a point.

"I was amused. Genuinely. When somebody throws something like that at you, what else are you going to be? I was surprised and then amused.

"I don't think she got her point across... Throwing things at people is probably not the way to go about it, but each to their own I suppose."

His politics are about what you'd imagine to look at him - senior MP in the centre-right National party, a "slash and burn the public sector and privatise everything cos free market something something" type - but yeah, he probably came out of that whole incident ahead from now he responded to it
