I hardly think it's cult like to rally around an incumbent when all the next best choices aren't even trying to get the nomination. I think it's foolish to seek to oust Biden now, and damn stupid to pledge not to vote for him in November. I'm just thankful there's plenty centrists who aren't as foolish as my fellow leftist are being this cycle.
I doubt very much "real" American leftists are behind this push. Vatniks, maybe.

Yes, obviously, like all living presidents, but that doesn't mean he's not also the lesser evil and replacing him is a pipe dream.
