“I know that President Biden and his team have been true public servants and have put the country and the best interests of democracy first and foremost in their considerations," Sherrill said. "And because I know President Biden cares deeply about the future of our country, I am asking that he declare that he won’t run for reelection and will help lead us through a process toward a new nominee.”

You're absolutely correct on the faithless electors laws. Even if they would be ruled unconstitutional in court, there's simply not enough time to deal with that shit before the election. And I don't see that kind of clown show improving our chances.

None of this is even possible unless an alternative is identified that wants to run (hasn't happened) and Biden chooses to step aside (hasn't happened).

I don't know where some of these people are getting these fairy tales about Biden showing up to the convention and saying "okay guys, I'm out. You've got 4 days or whatever to figure it out."
