They just went all anime on the character design in Resident Evil Revelations for some reason to the extent that it's jarring even when compared to the whackier installments in the series. Just look at this collection of awful hairdos and weird faces
Revelations is probably the silliest Resident Evil game which is saying a lot. Everything's cartoony and ridiculous
They dedicated a whole subplot to two bumbling over-the-top comic relief sidekicks, one of whom talks in an exaggerated nerd voice and is named Jackass
