sometimes when I click on a post that is an image, I see the image briefly then it dissappear and this replaces it (lemmy.world)

It's weird that using other apps this doesn't happen, only on connect.

This has been a thing in Boost for at least 5 years. The preview is cached, but pulling the full image fails.
