It can occur differently within many areas, orderly or chaotically, and be willing or unwilling. It does not necessarily imply human extinction or a singular, global event. Although, the longer the duration, the more it resembles a ‘decline’ instead of collapse.

Hahaha indeed. But seriously, within the accuracy of the researchers I do not even know why they use 3 significant digits. I highly doubt they can be better than 0.5 % accurate. I would expect a value rounded to the nearest 0.1 (2 significant digits).
