In response to the US-Israeli war, Iran shut down the Strait of Hormuz, the most important oil chokepoint on Earth, causing energy prices to skyrocket. However, Tehran is allowing Chinese tankers through, and says other ships can pass if they agree to sell oil in China's currency, the renminbi (aka yuan). As the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran and the Israeli war on Lebanon rapidly escalate, Pakistan has launched deadly airstrikes inside Afghanistan, killing dozens of civilians in what it calls an "open war." Obaidullah Baheer, Adjunct Lecturer at the American University of Afghanistan, joins to discuss what he calls “a war that has no endgame,” explaining how Pakistan's attacks are destabilizing a country already struggling with 7.2 million returning refugees and a crippled economy.
