Democrats aren't attacking Jill Stein because they think she is taking votes from Kamala Harris. No one I know who's voting Green would consider a vote for Harris at this point. They're attacking Jill Stein because they don't want voters to know that there can be a worker-centered party to the left of the Democrats that supports popular policies like Medicare for All, a $25 wage and federally guaranteed housing.

There are 80+ million eligible voters who don't vote at all because they don't see the point. Democrats are okay with this, in fact, they don't want any candidate to their left to appeal to those voters with popular policies.

The fact that the Green Party exists shows that the Democrats aren't pushing the most progressive policies. Jill Stein's candidacy shows that it's possible to support reproductive justice AND be against funding and arming a genocide. That we can end homelessness if we stopped funding endless wars around the globe.

Democrats don't want anyone to the left of them to exist because it's the only way they can convince Americans that Dem policies are "the best that we can do". To Dems, anything else is just "asking for a pony".

Don't fall for it. Despite Dem's desire to have you think otherwise, things don't have to be this way.

Another world is possible.

SAG-AFTRA‘s strike against major video game publishers will continue, as the actors union has extended contract negotiations with the employers. This comes after an inability to resolve the ongoing dispute over its Interactive Media Agreement after three days of scheduled talks concluded this week.

Per SAG-AFTRA, the new dates for returning to the table with the video game companies’ bargaining committee will be announced as soon as they are confirmed.

Prior to returning to the table with the corporate gaming side Wednesday, SAG-AFTRA announced more than 120 video game titles had signed either SAG-AFTRA’s proposed Interim Media Agreement or the indie developer-focused Tiered-Budget Independent Interactive Agreement, as the strike is largely handled on a title by title basis rather than studio by studio.

This is a striking moment but it isn’t the damning moment for Muslims & Arabs as many may think it is - it is the sign of the demise of the Democratic Party, even in its ability to maintain optics.

And optics are at the core of politics.

Kamala Harris, Joe Biden & the Democratic Party have refused to even share a stage with Arabs, Muslims, Palestinians - not even for the sake of optics or for the sake of their electoral interests.

Instead, Harris & her party have chosen to castigate & marginalize Arabs & Muslims - who overwhelmingly vote Democrat - at every single turn.

Trump did the easiest thing the Democrats & Harris couldn’t: he welcomed some Arabs & Muslims to share the stage with him. He embraced them. The Democrats, Biden & Harris have categorically refused to.

Muslims and Arabs have endorsed Jill Stein / third party candidates (@Abandonbiden24, over 150 imams/clerics in a letter); Muslims/Arabs have endorsed / supported Harris (Zogby, Emgage, Mehdi Hasan, Uncommitted-ish). Black Muslims have been on both sides of this.

The narrative has been & will continue to be that Arabs & Muslims are supporting Trump - this isn’t true. Our communities are pushing against the genocide of our people.

Some in our communities are choosing to side with the current genocidaires, some are choosing to side with the future genocidaires. These men with Trump are a handful of Muslim/Arab leaders out of millions of Muslims in this country. Our communities aren’t monolithic.

[Please read the entire article - it is very thoughtful and informative. With her record on Gaza and Lebanon, voting for Harris will be difficult for millions in the US. --PL]

O'odham Woman Becomes Hero When Genocide Joe Comes to Town

By Brenda Norrell, Censored News, Oct. 25, 2024

"In the #GilaRiver Indian Community today, Biden claimed to be issuing an apology to #NativeAmerican children who were victims of U.S. #BoardingSchools. His glory campaign was short-lived.

"As Biden spoke, an O'odham woman held up this sign: 'There Are Still Babies in Mass Graves. Your Apology Means Nothing!! #LandBack!'

"Calling out to Biden, she said, 'What about the people in #Gaza! What about the people in #Palestine?'

"'How can you apologize for a #genocide while actively committing a genocide in Palestine! #FreePalestine.'

"Security removed her."

Had to check online to be 100% sure the superPAC that mailed it was Trump-linked. I've never heard of Elissa Slotkin before, but apparently she's a US rep for another district in Michigan. Our rep is Rashida Tlaib, who is Palestinian descent, so I'm guessing the PAC's thought process in designing this was they don't want to link Harris to our actual representative so just pick some other random rep nearby.

As someone who does not want Trump to be re-elected, it's at least relieving to know how easy it will be for the democrats to counter these dirty tricks. All they need to do is have their candidate make clear public statements to clarify that she doesn't want this linked to her campaign. Of course, she'll have to clearly point out which specific parts are offensive, so people don't just think she fine with antisemitism. Explaining that being anti-apartheid is not the same as being antisemitic is pretty straightforward though, so this should be no big deal.

'VERY SERIOUS DISEASE'

The E. coli O157:H7 strain that led to the McDonald's outbreak is the same as a strain linked to a 1993 incident at Jack in the Box that killed four children. It can cause "very serious disease," especially for the elderly, children and people who are immunocompromised, said Shari Shea, director of food safety at the Association of Public Health Laboratories.

McDonald's suppliers test their products frequently and did so in the date range the CDC gave for the outbreak, and none of them identified this E. coli strain, company spokespeople said.

U.S. food safety attorney Bill Marler, who represented a victim in the Jack in the Box outbreak, said this is a relatively large and serious outbreak for which McDonald’s will face “a lot” of liability for the contamination.

Analysts flagged the outbreak as a potential black eye for McDonald’s ahead of earnings.

Analysts said McDonald's fourth-quarter sales could experience some pressure from the outbreak, but it was too early to say whether it would be worse than the previous two E. coli cases.

Among these voters, Harris gets a boost because they believe she would protect abortion rights, and some have broader hopes that electing the first female president could send a strong message to the country. But she’s weighed down by a number of important factors: a dim diagnosis of America’s economy, negative views about life during President Joe Biden’s administration and a lack of familiarity with her, which has bred ambivalence and distrust.

It’s different for Trump, one of the best-known political figures on the planet. Some of these voters believe his conduct during his time in office has disqualified him in their eyes, and even some of his supporters fear he’d focus more in a second term on fighting his enemies than on governing.

Still, a majority of the 12 participants in two sessions — part of the NBC News Deciders Focus Group, produced in collaboration with Syracuse University and the research firms Engagious and Sago — are leaning toward Trump for the oldest reason in politics: It’s the economy.

She even posted that selfown herself...

EDIT: I'm pretty baffled by the downvotes though. I though there aren't many republicans here?
