This week on TMNT Tuesday, AIPT asked your questions with Dan Watters, writer of the upcoming Shredder miniseries, and Alex Paknadel, helming the Casey Jones series, to dig into what makes these complex antiheroes tick. From rage-as-armor character studies to action-packed martial arts mayhem, both writers are carving out bold new corners of the IDW TMNT universe.

What makes TMNT so timeless? How violent is Shredder going to be? Which Casey Jones is the best Casey Jones? You asked—Dan and Alex answered. Plus, check out the interior art that has never been seen outside of the recent TMNT panel!

The grim and somber tone of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin finds a new home with Webtoon, the vertical-viewing comic app that popularized many webcomics. Webtoon made it official during San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2025, announcing that The Last Ronin is coming to its app as part of a partnership with IDW Publishing, the original publisher of the comic and graphic novel.

I want to read some TMNT comics.

Any recommendations for something I can easily find? I am fine with digital, as long as it's not too expensive for the whole run.

To try and make this community a bit more interactive, I thought I'd open a topic to discuss what TMNT content we've been going through recently. If it works out, we might make this a recurring post!

So, how have you been consuming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles content recently? What comic books, videogames, action figures, pinball machines, cartoons, movies or other media with TMNT in it have you been enjoying or have recently acquired?

Myself, I recently finished reading the Mirage years TMNT Compendium Vol. 2. I had previously read Vol 1 and really enjoyed it. This one, when it comes to the Guest Era, is a bit hit or miss. I enjoyed it anyways, just not as much as the first volume.

I am waiting for the hardback edition of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin II Re-Evolution to be delivered. I got The Last Ronin and Lost Years in this format too, so it's adding up to a nice looking part of my bookshelf. I will probably re-read these before going into the new one.

I've also been watching episodes from the 2003 animated series every now and then. 2012 is still my favourite animated show and I grew up watching 1987, but I'm catching up with 2003 since I didn't watch it back when it came out.

How about you?

TMNT icons go solo: Shredder and Casey Jones each star in thrilling new stories.

This fall, IDW sharpens its focus on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe with two gritty solo miniseries that dive deep into the lives of its most iconic supporting characters. It begins on August 27 with Shredder from Dan Watters and Michele Bandini, and then continues on September 17 with Casey Jones by Alex Paknadel and Amancay Nahuelpan.

They say "Turtlemania is back!", but it never went away over here... I'm assuming it's only in the United States, since I couldn't find information on locations.

Turtlemania is back! Experience one of the biggest and most widely anticipated movie anniversary celebrations of the year with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 35th Anniversary coming to theatres from Fathom Entertainment, the leading specialty distributor of content to theatrical partners worldwide, Saga Arts, and Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group on August 17 and 20.

Legions of fans of the superhero movie and new audiences will delight in the shared theatrical experience of the iconic “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” comic book adaptation starring "Leonardo", "Michelangelo", "Donatello", and "Raphael" that caused a pop culture craze upon its 1990 premiere, and now offers longtime fans the chance to introduce their kids to the original movie that started it all, back on the big screen.

From New Line Cinema and directed by the legendary film and music video director Steve Barron, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 35th Anniversary will also present the Turtles Unmasked featurette. Produced in collaboration with the creators of TMNT: Evolution, Mutation & Reboot, the featurette showcases before the movie—neverbefore-seen footage from the archives, extended scenes left to history on the cutting room floor, home-recorded behind-the-scenes footage, and 1-on-1 time and commentary with Barron, as he reflects on the day-to-day in crafting the absolute best version of Turtles brought to the big screen.

Adapted from the early Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics with characters created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the movie achieved the then-seemingly impossible feat of bringing its reptilian heroes to full liveaction with a team of puppeteers and a voice cast led by Brian Tochi (Revenge of the Nerds, Police Academy 3: Back in Training) as Leonardo, Corey Feldman (Stand By Me, The Goonies) as Donatello, Josh Pais (The Station Agent, A Beautiful Mind), as Raphael, Robbie Rist (Balto, “Doc McStuffins”) as Michelangelo and Kevin Clash (“Sesame Street,” Muppet Treasure Island) as Splinter, the Turtles' master. The film also features Judith Hoag (Zodiac, Fallen) and Elias Koteas (Armageddon, Cadillac Man)
